Hidden shrines, neighborhood kitchens, and quiet forest trails — guided by Japanese hosts who grew up here and know every turn.
Our Philosophy
Our guides were born and raised in these neighborhoods. They know which shrine gate catches the morning light, where the best soba shop hides down a side street, and which forest path stays quiet even in peak season.
We keep groups small so there is room for real conversation. Ask about local customs, daily life, food, anything. Many guests join early in their trip and say it changed how they experienced the rest of Japan.

Our Name
In Japanese mythology, the sun goddess once retreated into a cave, leaving the world in darkness. No one could force her out.
It was Uzume who brought her back — not through force, but through warmth, laughter, and joy. She danced until the curiosity became irresistible, and the light returned on its own.
That spirit shapes everything we do. We don't rush through checklist attractions. We create the kind of warmth that lets Japan reveal itself to you naturally.
Our Journeys
A few hours or a few days — every experience is led by a local Japanese guide who knows the area by heart.
Wander together
Join a small group led by a Japanese guide who grew up in the area. We visit hidden shrines, neighborhood cafes, and seasonal spots you won't find on a map. The group stays small on purpose — there's always room for questions, stories, and real connection.

Multi-day, limited spaces
These trips follow the rhythm of Japan's seasons — cranes gathering on frozen Kushiro wetlands in winter, wisteria in spring, seaside gatherings in summer. We travel as a small group, share meals together, and stay in places only locals know about.

Guest Stories
We arrived in Tokyo feeling completely lost. After one morning with Uzume, everything clicked — the trains, the etiquette, the food. It set the tone for our whole trip.

It felt like spending the day with a friend who happens to know every hidden corner of Kamakura. No rushing, no crowds, just genuine conversation and beautiful places.

The seasonal trip to Kushiro was something we will never forget. A tiny group, unreal landscapes, and a guide who made us feel like family from the first evening.
